BIOGRAPHY

John Klaerner is the group leader of the renewable power and emissions reduction section in the machinery department at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas. He specializes in machinery design and thermal analysis, with a focus on equipment used in supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) cycles.

John’s work includes modeling, instrumentation, commissioning, and testing of sCO2 components and full test loops, as well as contributions to advanced energy storage programs. His efforts support innovation in clean energy and emissions reduction technologies.
